B/A Products Co. was founded by Mel and Enid Berman in a Hollywood, Florida storefront in 1978.  They started out by building chain assemblies, punching rubber sling straps and a few other basic products.  As demand and customer requests grew, items like cables, air tanks, switch panels, tow slings and door tools were added to the product line.

A 1984 move to Maryland brought more space and a more centralized location, allowing better transit times to the growing list of nationwide distributors. Mel and Enid's daughter Lori and future son in law Fritz joined the business as well.

It also brought a change to the business.  Moving away from the wholesale market and becoming a manufacturer, B/A became an innovator in the parts and accessories market.  We were pioneers in introducing V-Straps with J Hooks for towing, and upgrading tow chain assemblies from grade 30 to grade 40 and then upgrading again to grade 70.  B/A designed and patented the best selling Rollback Tie-Down System on the market.  We were also the first manufacturer to offer our chain products boxed for resale.  Every few years more space was added, and we now occupy almost 70,000 square feet with further plans for expansion as our company continues to grow.

Lori's husband Chip joined the company in 1998 and has led the diversification into areas beyond the towing and recovery market.

More products, more equipment and more employees have helped B/A become a leader in the towing, auto hauling, chain and wire rope industries.  We are still family owned, committed to manufacturing quality products and offering excellent customer service to match.
